The Request

Astellas, a leading global pharmaceutical company, approached Fig Media to create a new engaging recruitment film. Astellas had a goal of creating a film that would inspire and educate people on who their company is and what it is like to be an employee for Astellas. They felt their previous films fell short and they could not identify what was lacking. They turned to Fig Media to bridge this gap.

The Solution

Fig Media met with Astellas at their facility and knew immediately what was missing in previous films. Fig saw that the heart of the company was in the people. Fig was blown away by the culture that Astellas had created, and knew this was the place to focus the heart of the film.  Fig emmersed themselves in the middle of the culture, interviewed over 150 people, and traveled across the country to attend conferences and recreational activities. Fig’s goal was to create a film that would make people of Astella’s shine.

Fig focused on genuine interactions and personalities of the people, and worked from an outline, but did not have a script. The intent and what was achieved was a a very real film.

The Result

Astellas was thrilled and as a result found many more opportunities to show the film. They have used the film at orientations, trainings, recruitment events, meetings, and as a tool on their website. The film was designed to fit with Astellas branding, and Fig choose graphics and editing techniques, so it would have a timeless feel. Fig chose music that would grab attention and emotion, and selected edits that kept people engaged and preserved the real humor and fun of the culture. The major compliment that is said after viewing the film is “Wow, I want to work there.” Fig and Astellas knew they had accomplished their goal.
