Alvin Black III

A renaissance man, Alvin Black III has been a designer and DJ with fig media for the last 15 years. He received his degree from Dartmouth College, where he majored in Painting and Finance. Being an avid traveler and salsa dancer, he loves any opportunity to play salsa, cha-cha, bachata, or cumbia at an event.

Mixing the familiar and lesser-known, to creating unique experiences for his clients, Alvin has worked events ranging from house parties to events with over a thousand people and everything in between. A Dartmouth alumni, Alvin trained in finance and Fine Arts and currently shows his own artwork at exclusive gallery showings, he also traveled to Thailand where he taught art study and technique to local students. He has held residencies at the W hotel, Angels & Kings, and has done multiple guest spots at the long-running first Fridays at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Loving to play with live musicians has led him to team up with drummers and electric violinists on multiple occasions. In addition to keeping up with the latest pop music, Alvin specializes in hip hop, world music, jazz, and soul. Multicultural events are another specialty of his, combining different influences into a distinctive night. Being an avid salsa dancer, Alvin loves any opportunity to play salsa, cha-cha, bachata, or cumbia at an event.
